University of Michigan MUSKET’s production of Funny Girl marked the 50th anniversary of the Power Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The student organization’s first show in the Power Center back in 1972 was Funny Girl.

We tackled the daunting project of putting up a full-scale musical in the Power Center in 7 days. With only 1 day of dedicated tech, 2 days of dress rehearsal, and 4 shows, Funny Girl was the second production to open to the public in the building after its shutdown at the beginning of the pandemic.

My contributions to the lighting design included choosing gobos and colors. I also designed the lighting seen in the promotional posters.
