 This piece is based on the award winning essay by T. Fleischmann, “Time is the Thing a Body Moves Through.”

Choreographer Charli Brissey based the work on the physical movement through the emotional arc of our existence, with disparate styles demarcating life’s different stages.

I designed lighting to highlight the dancers’ themselves, wearing dark costumes with intricate yet shining bronze cut-outs, while capturing the universality of their collective experience.

I paid particular attention to the flow of transitions among the varied — occasionally dissonant — sonic moments.
