Fools by Neil Simon is set in a small village in Ukraine that is cursed into stupidity. 

For the sound design of the show, I wanted to focus on creating a soundscape that fit within the setting, yet highlighted the comedic script. I attended many rehearsals to get a better sense of the production's personality overall and learn the beats that I would be designing for. 

A lot of my research focused on Ukrainian folk music, from classic, culturally important songs to more modern music. I used a combination of these sounds in the final design to build the world but engage the younger audience.
