Nora: A Doll’s House was the first University Production to have a live audience since the shutdown in March of 2020. The story is a hard-hitting modern adaptation of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House that points out the ways in which times haven’t changed in the past 100 years.
Henry Reynolds and I build a soundscape experience for the audience with the Arthur Miller’s very flexible speaker system. From backstage, overstage, and behind seats, we placed the audience into Nora’s perspective to envelope them in the narrative.
I composed an original sound mix to play during the second break between Act II and Act III to reflect the dissonance of the three Noras throughout time.
